Your wedding is a special day in your life. You want to make sure that it is memorable and beautiful for you, your soon-to-be spouse, and all of your guests. To start down that journey of the perfect wedding, you have to first think about what you want the wedding to be. Specifically, what’s the theme? From costume weddings to weddings focused on the style of the dress, just knowing the theme will help you plan everything else out.

To help you along, here is a list of 7 wedding themes that you could love.

  1. Circus Theme
First, you could have an all out show stopper of an event with a wonderful circus theme. Keep in mind that this event doesn’t necessarily have to involve you hiring a bunch of clowns to make your guests laugh (and cry in some cases). You can just have a great color pallet for your banquet hall that screams circus. Adding that and festive decorations and party favors can make one heck of a circus themed wedding.
  2. Princess Theme
If you’re not feeling the circus vibe, maybe a princess theme is more up your alley. In this case, look for wedding venues that can hold up to your expectations for your royal wedding. Get the tiara and scepter ready, because your royal fantasies are just about to become a reality. If you are feeling like going a little further, perhaps you could even make it into a Disney princess wedding too.
  3. Fairy tale
Going along with the earlier idea, but with a twist is the idea of a fairy tale wedding. Yes, you can stay a prince and princess, but you can also add other fairy tale aspects as well. Order fairy decorations to spice up the banquet hall. Or, you can have fun party favors like elf ears to really make guests feel like they are in the middle of a fantasy story.
  4. Seasonal
Or you could go with the tried-and-true wedding theme of a seasonal event. Not only can you have the event happen in a specific time of the year, but you can also organize the entire wedding around that season. For instance, you can pick specific colors that go with that season such as oranges and reds to go with an autumn wedding. Then, you can also order season food for the guests to eat as well. The options are only limited by the season itself.
  5. Movie Theme
Do you have a favorite movie that you just won’t shut up about? Did you and your betrothed meet and/or bond over a movie? Then it would be a great idea to have a movie theme for your wedding. Prepare the vows to mention movie quotes, decorate the banquet hall rentals with the film’s paraphernalia, have your bridesmaids and groomsmen dress up as your favorite characters, and have blast at your movie themed wedding.
  6. Beach Theme
The next wedding plans to consider is if you want to have a beach theme or not. This goes outside of the seasonal theme as it focuses on specifically on a beach motif and not on the summer season. If you love to go to the beach then this theme may be for you. Have little sand centerpieces and maybe even give some away as party favors. Have beach music playing throughout the reception and enjoy your wedding as if you were sitting on the beach sunbathing.
  7. Color Focused
The last theme is one that is focused on colors. Specifically, consider having a wedding that is all about the color of your choosing. For instance, having a black or red wedding, or a silver and gold wedding, or a white and silver wedding, or whatever else you could think up of. These color combinations could show in all of the decorations or all of the dresses/tuxes, or even in the food. Your imagination could really go crazy with this kind of theme.

Your wedding is a great night full of fun, family, friends, and fondness. That said, there’s a lot of preparing that goes into that day and night at the banquet hall. The first thing you have to do to start all that preparing is to decide a theme. Pick one you like, and let the creative juices fly.
